The measures of body, mind, and spirit
Stats are key to creating a dynamic character. Each stat point can add to various outcomes — how strong you are, how smart you are. They can make your character into something that encompasses your vision. Let's step a bit deeper into what stats are and how to use them.
Muscle power, lifting, and melee attack force.
Agility, reflexes, stealth, and ranged accuracy.
Health, stamina, and total hit points.
Memory, reasoning, and book learning.
Perception, insight, and intuition.
Force of personality, persuasion, and leadership.
When you create a character, after deciding your race and class, you will get to the point of rolling your stats. Below are details on how the stats will be generated.
Roll 3d6 (three 6-sided dice). This is done in Discord in the Bots Command Channel by using the command /r 3d6. Your dice rolls will be displayed along with a total for all 3. You will do this 6 times.
/r 3d6Assign the stat points generated by each command total to one of your Base Stats. For instance, you might roll a 14 and add that to your Strength stat. You next might roll a 10 and add that to your Intelligence stat. How you assign them is your choice, but keep in mind, these numbers will be key when in and out of combat. You wouldn't want to be a weak warrior…or would you?
Once your stats are rolled, the application will automatically add the additional modifiers based on the Race and Class you choose. These are automatically assigned and cannot be changed.
◆A score of 10 is the average baseline (modifier of +0).
◆For every 2 points above or below 10 that the stat point is, the modifier increases or decreases by 1 (e.g., a score of 14 in Strength gives a +2 modifier to attacks that require Strength; a score of 8 gives a -1).
◆You add this modifier to your 20-sided die (d20) rolls for skill checks, attacks, and saving throws. (I.E., /r 1d20+2 in Discord.) This will be explained more in the combat help section.
